As the 2026-2027 school year approaches, Webster County Schools is reminding parents and guardians that West Virginia law requires students entering 7th grade and 12th grade to have specific immunizations before they may attend school.
To comply with state immunization requirements:
Students entering 7th grade
must have:
One dose of
Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) vaccine

One dose of
Meningococcal (MCV4)
vaccine.
Students entering 12th grade
must have:
A
booster dose of the Meningococcal (MCV4)
vaccine if the first dose was administered before age 16.
These immunization requirements help protect the health and safety of all students and staff and are required for attendance in West Virginia public schools.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to schedule appointments with their child's healthcare provider or local health department as soon as possible if their student still needs the required vaccinations. Waiting until the last minute may result in appointment delays.
Families should submit updated immunization records to their child's school before the first day of classes to avoid any interruption in attendance.
