Check out our updated Summer Community Events Calendar featuring free and low-cost activities in Webster County and surrounding areas. The most expensive event on the calendar is $1!
If your organization is hosting a free or low-cost event that you'd like added to our calendar, please contact Chelsie Dillon at the Webster County Board of Education. We want to highlight as many affordable opportunities as possible so families can take advantage of everything our communities have to offer.

With students wrapping up another school year and families looking for ways to have fun together, we are excited to share our Community Summer Events Calendar featuring free and low-cost activities happening throughout our area and surrounding communities.
We know summer memories don't have to come with a big price tag. Whether it's a community festival, movie night, concert, family activity, or special event, we hope this calendar helps connect families with opportunities to get out, have fun, and make meaningful memories together this summer.
Please note that this calendar is intended as a quick reference and includes event titles, dates, and times. For specific details, locations, registration information, weather updates, or event changes, families may need to visit the hosting organization's website or social media page.
Have an event to add?
If your organization is hosting a free or very low-cost event that would benefit local families, please contact Chelsie Dillon at the Webster County Board of Education Central Office location. We would be happy to include it on future versions of the calendar.
This calendar will be updated and shared periodically throughout the summer as new events are submitted.
We hope this becomes a helpful tool for families and encourages everyone to get out, enjoy our community, and make the most of summer break!

Unfortunately, participation in these events has been very low. With limited attendance, it becomes difficult to continue financially supporting and planning these opportunities.
We truly want to offer services and events that meet your needs and make a difference. Please take a few moments to complete this survey and share your feedback. Your input will help us determine how we can better support you and your family moving forward.

While students are out today, our staff and custodial teams are actively sanitizing and deep cleaning school buildings to help reduce the spread of germs. In addition, we ask families to please follow these important health guidelines:
• Students who have a fever should remain home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without medication.
• Students who test positive for COVID-19 are encouraged to wear a mask for 5 days following a positive test.
• Please send a doctor’s excuse when available for absences.
We understand that not every illness requires or allows for a doctor’s visit. Families may use up to 10 parent notes per school year. Parent notes should include:
• A statement that your child was ill
• The date(s) the excuse applies to
Please remember that all excuses (doctor or parent notes) must be submitted within 3 days following the last absence.
Thank you for helping us prioritize the health and well-being of our students and staff. Working together makes a difference!
